Moving a tree specimen calls for both special care and unique equipment. To meet this challenge Northern Tree Service often utilizes one of its several air spades. This pneumatic technology allows arborists to gently separate root fibers from their surrounding soil matrix. By minimizing structural damage this revolutionary approach has greatly increased transplanting success. Additionally, air spades allows us to carefully remove some of the soil around a tree’s root flair for replacement with organic fertilizers.
